1st Taiwan Fastener Exhibition Reports 1,488 International Buyers

The 2010 Taiwan International Fastener Show drew 1,488 international buyers and a total of 17,000 visitors during the October 19-20 trade show in Kaohsiung.
 

In addition to buyers from the U.S.,  Europe, and Japan, exhibitors reported visitors from emerging markets, such as Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

According to a survey conducted by the organizer, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, over 80% of buyers noted that products on display were highly diversified.

Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute chairman Joe Chen the event “far exceeded Sponsor Kaohsiung City Government set up a meeting area and offered consulting services.

During a visit to the show, Kaohsiung County Magistrate Yang Chiu-Hsing said that the government would continue to develop the Kaohsiung Science Park, and the research of the high-value fasteners used for precision and medical equipments would be a prioritized project in the Park.

Chiu-Hsing said that the government would support local fastener manufacturers in research and development as well as creating higher product prices.

Taiwanese exhibitors all showcased their best and latest offerings during the fair. To present applications of fasteners products, Taikyu Co. installed a wooden building model. Stampo Enterprise Co. showcased a large-size screw molding machine.

Many exhibitors arranged factory visits for buyers after the exhibition. The Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIDRC), which has long worked with Taiwanese fasteners manufacturers on industry upgrading projects, said that solidarity among Taiwan’s fasteners companies, as well as the industry strength, which has been improved based on strong production capability, were clearly demonstrated in this year’s exhibition.

The “One-on-One Procurement Meeting” held on October 19 created another highlight during the exhibition. Organizer TAITRA invited 22 major buyers, including F. Reyher NCHFG, Dura Automotive, Kirchhoff Automotive, Haeffele GmbH of Europe; Flex-N-Gate Corp. and Mid-States Bolt & Screw from

the U.S.; Industrial Rex Ltda, Brazil; Mitsuba Corp. ad Tatsumi Corp. from Japan.

A total of 200 meetings were held among the 22 buyers.
