The second Fastener Fair Budapest will expand beyond Eastern Europe, show organizer Jerry Ramsdale said.

The event is set September 6-7, 2010, at the SYMA Event Centre in Budapest.

The first Fastener Fair Budapest was held in 2008 and drew 171 exhibiting companies from 26 countries and nearly 1,500 fastener and fixing industry people.

“One of the main objectives of that first show in 2008 was to provide the international fastener and fixing community with a platform from which to investigate how best to do business in central and Eastern Europe,” Ramsdale said. “For 2010, we’ll be applying what we all collectively learned in 2008 to make 2010 an even better show. We’re all now armed with a greater understanding of that market and what the region’s industry expects.”

Ramsdale said the experience will be used to attract more buyers. “Last time, almost 1,000 of our visitors were decision-makers with purchasing authority,” Ramsdale noted. “And our market research for 2010 shows that many more international visitors are keen to attend – not only those from central and eastern Europe, but many others from further afield, too.”

For 2010 Fastener Fair is expanding the Budapest events to “further internationalize the show, whilst still creating a central hub for doing business in central and Eastern Europe.”

Fastener Fair also holds expos in the UK and Stuttgart, Germany.

The purpose-built SYMA is within 50 meters of subway, tram, trolleys and busses and a 15-minute walk from the Budapest Eastern Railway Station.
