Aerospace fastener manufacturer Morton Mfg. is moving to Lancaster, CA, from the Santa Clarita Valley, according to the San Fernando Valley Business Journal.
Morton will bring 300 jobs to the area by relocating 200 current jobs and adding an additional 100 machinists, lab technicians and production workers after the move, company CEO Yolanda Morton stated.
Slated for 2013, the move will put the company into a new 86,000 building on a 10-acre site on the city’s east side, the Journal reports.
Founded in 1967, Morton is a minority, woman-owned business that supplies nickel-alloy bolts for gas-turbine aircraft as well as certain gas-turbine engines. The company is forecasting $40 million in revenue this year, and growing 25% more to $50 million by the end of 2013. ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
