ANIXTER — First half of 2012

Anixter International reported sales in its OEM Supply segment, including Anixter Fasteners, gained 1.9% to an adjusted $250.9 million during the second quarter of 2012, hampered by a reduction in production rates by several OEM Supply customers.
Geographically, OEM Supply revenue in the U.S. declined 1.4% to $109.5 million during Q2, while sales in Europe increased 1.3% to $121.5 million and Emerging Market (Asia Pacific and Latin America) sales rose 30.5% to $19.9 million.

During the first half of 2012 OEM Supply sales grew 6.6% to $514.5 million. U.S. segment sales gained 5% to $225.5 million, while Europe achieved a 5.1% increase to $251.5 million and Emerging Market sales soared 30.6% to $37.5 million.

Overall Q2 sales edged up 1% to $1.58 billion, with operating incoming slowing 2% to $89.9 million and net income dropping 9% to $44 million.

Six-month sales at Anixter gained 2% to $3.1 billion, with operating income up 4% to $176.6 million and net income rising 12% to $99.6 million.
