Elected vice president is Michael Rodriguez of the Fastener Connection; treasurer, John Longyear, Metric & Multistandard Components; and assistant treasurer treasurer, Bobby Salome, El Paso Bolt & Screw.
Beginning three-year board terms are Ron Garrett, SBS Industries; Kris Palmer, Delta Fastener Corp.; and Tyler Peart, HRS Logistics.

At the SFA’s autumn dinner meetings in Dallas and Houston, Rick Pepper of The Fastener Connection reviewed changes in the fastener industry from the old model of manufacturer to distributor to customer and sales was distributor vs. distributor.
The new model is “Our Supply Chain vs. Their Supply Chain,” Pepper pointed out. He outlined how the supply chain has gotten complicated and the number of links in the chain can significantly affect the distributor’s ability to satisfy customers.
Pepper said the industry needs to understand the upstream supply chain and the importance of communication throughout the chain.
The next SFA conference will be April 25-28, 2013, at Lowes Ventana Canyon in Tucson, AZ. For SFA information contact executive director John Elsner. Tel: 713 952-5472 E-mail: swfa@swbell.net ©2012 GlobalFastenerNews.com
