Italy’s Metal Fastener Group Expands

Colombo Giovanni & Figli Srl, an automatic turning company that produces turned parts to customer drawing, joined the Metal Fastener Group, Fastener + Fixing Magazine reports.
The group now comprises six engineering companies based in the Lecco region of Italy.

“This collaboration, recently formalized in a “net of companies contract”, has allowed the company to increase its presence on the international market, thanks to participation at high profile international exhibitions such as the Fastener Fairs at Stuttgart and in Sao Paulo in 2011, as well as the Fastener Fair in Hannover in 2012,” Fastener + Fixing reports.

The push into international markets has driven Colombo Giovanni’s foreign revenue to 60% of total sales.

The company has installed new software for “in production” Statistical Process Control (SPC) and a new high resolution optical machine to perform a 100% inspection of produced parts. And the company has renewed its certification to UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 for the fifteenth year.

Founded in the 1940s, Colombo Giovanni was incorporated in Abbadia Lariana to produce screw nuts. The firm now has 29 employees. Web: colombotorneria.it
