Jeffery T. Ferry, 43, founder and president of Telefast Industries and 1stFastener.com, died suddenly of a heart attack June 6, 2002, on a business trip to Mexico.\
Ferry was fourth generation in the fastener industry. His great-grandfather, Thomas Ferry, founded Ferry Cap & Set Screw; his grandfather, Edward Ferry, founded E.W. Ferry Screw Products; and his father, William Ferry, started Ferry Brothers.
Jeff Ferry founded the nut manufacturing company Telefast in 1986. He started 1stFastener.com, an Internet trading portal, in 2000. He was a member of the Industrial Fasteners Institute and the National Fastener Distributors Association. He was the IFI Division I/Industrial Products chair and a member of the finance committee.
He married Kathleen Durkin in 1985.
Survivors include his wife; five children, Brian, Michael, Ann Marie, Laura and Christine; his parents, Marianne Ferry of Rocky River, OH, and William Ferry of Westlake, OH; and three siblings.
