All Fasteners president Jim Ruetz will embark on a 4,000-mile, 12-day motorcycle trip across 12 states in the Cajun-Parrot Run to benefit CureDuchenne. The nonprofit group funds raises awareness and supports research for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
His trip starts June 5, 2013, from his hometown of Oak Creek, WI, and includes New Orleans and Key West.
Ruetz, an Oak Creek alderman, rode to Alaska in 2011 to help raise $10,000. Ruetz is inviting others in the fastener industry to join him in the ride or by donating. He has a goal of raising $20,000 this year. Web: cureduchenne.org

Gesipa Fasteners USA Inc. president Guy Krone announced the headquarters will move from New Jersey to North Carolina at the beginning of 2014.
Krone also announced he will step down as president at the end of 2013.
Krone started in the fastener industry in 1973 in sales for Acme Rivet & Machine Corp. He became president of Acme in 1983 and moved on after a buyout in 1989. After two years as general manager of Milford he became president of Gesipa in 1991.
“Now with the relocation of the U.S. headquarters, I have decided to step down,” Krone told FIN. “Because I’m not ready for retirement, I will continue working with Gesipa as CHB for a transition period. I look forward to new challenges.”

Gesipa was established in Waldorf, Germany in 1955. Gesipa introduced the GAV automatic-feed blind riveting system in 1975.

Erin Dumonski is the new director of quality at Northeast Fasteners Corporation. Dumonski will head NEF’s quality department along with quality manager Joseph Longo, where she will assist the company in enhancing their military and aerospace quality capabilities, president Eric Webster announced.
NEF currently supplies commercial, military and automotive fasteners and is adding aerospace fasteners. NEF is an AS9100C certified manufacturer.
Dumonski had been the quality assurance manager at B/E Aerospace Consumables, where she managed a quality department of 23 employees plus was also responsible for maintaining ISO 9001/AS9102 certification.
Previously she was with Pratt & Whitney’s engineering development program in quality and manufacturing engineering rotations. She earned certificates in lean manufacturing, supplier quality assurance; laboratory control at source; engineer in training; and the Phalanx Honorary Society’s commendable leadership award.

Screw Products Inc. is expanding its distribution lines of fasteners for coastal construction, president Jim Miller announced.
As a resident of Washington’s Puget Sound, Miller is familiar with coastal home fastener challenges. “Builders who work on the coast should be using nothing but 305 or 316 stainless steel,” Miller said. “Neither will rust and 305s are about 30% less expensive.”
