Jack Pekar was given ASTM International�s Fred F. Weinbruber Award for service on the ASTM Committee F16 on Fasteners.\
Pekar is director of continuous improvement/quality assurance at Allied Machine & Engineering Corp. of Dover, OH.
He is a member of the ASTM Committees A01 on Steel, Stainless Steel & Related Alloys, B08 on Metallic & Inorganic Coatings, E11 on Statistics and F16 on Fasteners.
Since 1965 Pekar has been involved in continuos improvement activities. He is the author of Total Quality Management: Guidelines for Application and numerous articles on quality improvement for trade magazines. Pekar was elected to the 2002 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award board of examiners.
