Fastener Fair Seeking to Tap 2nd Largest Latin America Economy

Fastener Fair is moving into Mexico because the country is the second largest economy in Latin America.

Since acquiring Fastener Fair in 2010, UK-based Mack Brooks Exhibitions Inc. has expanded beyond the flagship Fastener Fair Stuttgart with trade shows in Brazil, India, Thailand and Russia.

Fastener Fair Mexico will be March 12-13, 2014, at Centro Banamex in Mexico City.

Bob Chiricosta, director of North American exhibitions for Mack Brooks, cited the example of small appliances built in Mexico as reason for

Thus far 20% of exhibiting companies are U.S. based and 75% are Mexico or Latin America.  The remaining are from Asia.

Chiricosta noted that with a population of 113 million Mexico’s domestic demand and exports are increasing. Mexico is part of North American Free Trade Agreement and has 12 free trade agreements with 44 countries.

Major industries in Mexico include automotive, electronics, iron and steel, petroleum, energy and construction.

“The rapid economic development in Mexico has resulted in increasing demands from companies in the fastenings and fixings sector to approach this important market,” exhibition manager Candyce Costa explained.

The exhibition profile of Fastener Fair Mexico covers industrial fasteners and fixings, construction fixings, assembly and installation systems, fastener manufacturing technology as well as storage and logistics services.
