NEWS BRIEFS

Hellermann-Tyton is more than doubling the size of one of its Wisconsin manufacturing plants.

Cable ties and other plastic parts maker Hellermann-Tyton North America will add 102,000 sq ft to its 92,000 sq ft building, according to Terry Tuttle, vice president of sales & marketing.

Upon approvals, construction will begin this spring and the expanded plant will open in a year, Tuttle said.

Two months ago Hellermann-Tyton announced plans to add at least 50,000 sq ft.  The increase in the expansion is due to growth projections over the next four to five years, Tuttle told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The company projects adding 50+ jobs in the next two years, and as many as 125 by the end of the decade. The local workforce is currently about 400.

In 2012, the Milwaukee common council created a tax incremental financing district to assist Hellermann-Tyton’s $6.5 million purchase and redevelopment of the Good Hope Road facility. Hellermann-Tyton will recover $750,000 with property tax rebates on improvements. In addition, Milwaukee Economic Development Corp., a city-affiliated business lender, is loaning $2.75 million.

HellermannTyton is a global manufacturer wire, cable and components for the automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, rail, data communications, defense, electrical, renewable energy, industrial automation and OEM markets.

Located in 34 countries and listed on the London Stock Exchange, HellermannTyton’s North American headquarters is at 7930 N. Faulker Rd., Milwaukee, WI 53224. Tel: 800 537-1512 Fax 414 355-7341 Email: corp@htamericas Web: HellermannTyton.us
