Value Outpaces Volume Gains in Japan’s Fastener Industry

During 2013 Japan’s fastener exports rose 2.4% to 347,041 tons in volume, while the value increased 10.7% to 298.28 billion yen, ChinaFastener.Info reports.

In 2013 fastener imports to Japan grew 12.4% to 263,250 tons, with the value surging 28.2% to 90.79 billion yen.

Exports of iron or steel bolts increased 3.6% to 200,000 tons, while imports increased 10.6% to 100,000 tons, according to ChinaFastener.Info.

The export volume of copper fasteners fell 3.9% to 573 tons, while the value gained 3.4% to 1.99 billion yen. Copper fastener import volume declined 5.7% to 1,647 tons, but the value jumped 16.4% to 2.96 billion yen. ©2014 GlobalFastenerNews.com
