The Würth Group acquired Colorado-based distributor Timberline Fasteners to expand its sales in western states.

Timberline becomes part of the Industry Division of Würth Industry of North America.

The 80 Timberline employees bring the WINA total to approaching 1,000. The six WINA companies provide VMI to OEMs, using proprietary brand CPS C-Parts Solutions.

The acquisition gives the Midwest- and Eastern-oriented WINA more presence west of the Mississippi River.

“As we implement our expansion plans, the geographical locations that Würth Timberline occupies will help us be a more complete supplier to our target customer base,” executive VP Marc Strandquist said. “We look to that region of the country to be a lever of growth for us as we seek to double Würth Industry of North America in size by 2020.”

Timberline president Russ Doran observed that Würth’s “global footprint, strong brand identity and appetite for growth creates an energizing environment and attractive opportunity for our employees as well as our customers – and we look forward to proudly promoting our new ownership and renewed ambitions.”

Doran has been president of the Pacific-West Fastener Association (2011-2013).

Timberline, formerly A&I Bolt & Nut and Kemper Products, was founded in 1923. It has branches in Wisconsin, Nebraska and Puerto Rico, and is headquartered at 6195 Clermont St., Commerce City, CO 80022. Tel: 800 421-0886 Web: timberlinefasteners.com

WINA is part of the German-based Würth Group, which includes 400+ companies in 80 countries and 63,000 employees. More than 30,000 of the employees are sales people. Würth’s 2013 sales totaled EUR9.98 billion (U.S.$13.1b).
