Cardinal Demonstrates New Manufacturing
Machinery for Fastener Training Week
Cardinal Fastener Inc., a manufacturer of large diameter hot forged fasteners, hosted a factory tour of the 90,000 sq ft plant for Fastener Training Institute’s Fastener Training Week in Cleveland.
Cardinal president Bill Boak provided a brief history of Cardinal Fastener, which was founded in 1983. Cardinal Fastener became one of the early fastener manufacturers to receive ISO 9001:2008 certification, Boak noted.
After acquisition by Würth Group in 2011, Cardinal expanded and upgraded manufacturing capabilities and added quality initiatives and Cardinal teamed up with factory representatives to train its work force.
Cardinal demonstrated its five new CNC machines to further integrate hot forging and precision machining of components utilizing all grades of steel, as well as other high strength, high temperature, corrosion resistant materials, including stainless steel and exotic alloys; its short-lead-time manufacturing cells, where operators transform pre-forged blanks into finished product, enabling same day or next day shipping; plus its Forny 600,000-pound capacity tensile tester, optical comparators, hardness testers, magnetic particle inspection, hundreds of thread gauges, and other test/measurement equipment.
Cardinal Fastener is located at 5185 Richmond Rd., Bedford Heights, Ohio 44146. Tel: 800 237-3477 Web: cardinalfastener.com
