ASSOCIATIONS: NCFA Donates Webinar Scholarships
The North Coast Fastener Association president Marty Nolan announced eight winning companies of the association’s Fastener Training Institute webinar scholarships for members.
Webinar scholarship winners are: Hodell-Natco Industries, KJ Fasteners, Kimball Midwest, National Threaded Fasteners, R.L. English, Seaway Bolt & Specials, Solutions Industries and Ventura Industrial Products.
NCFA used proceeds from the annual raffle at the May 2015 Distributor Social to assist board member Sarah Johnson of Dunham Products in recovering from a near-fatal car wreck earlier this year. John Radel of Solution Industries and Tom Hipp of R.L. English donated back their winnings from Distributor Social events to add to the fund.
The next NCFA event is the annual golf outing on September 10.

The Los Angeles Fastener Association created the Fastener Training Institute in 2008 after developing its Certified Fastener Specialist program.
NCFA Expands Distributor Social
March 26, 2015 FIN – North Coast Fastener Association president Marty Nolan announced a full day of “NCFA Fastener Summit” activities culminating in its 7th annual Distributor Social.
The Social was held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Independence, OH.
NCFA events started with a 10 a.m. tour of the ND Industries Cleveland facility; and “lunch and learn” presentation on “Failure Analysis & Consultancy” conducted by Element Materials Technology at the Industrial Fasteners Institute.
At 1:30 board members from fastener associationsl exchanged programming ideas; at 3 p.m. the National Fastener Distributors Association will present the results of its 2014 Profit Report Benchmarking Study based on 30 participating distributors; followed by Young Fastener Professionals president Ryan Kertis discussing the current survey on attracting and retaining millennial employes; and a panel discussion entitled “Three on Three – Three Unique Perspectives on the Latest Fastener Industry Trends” moderated by Eric Dudas of Fully Threaded Radio.
The traditional Distributor Social started at 5 p.m. Last year it drew more than 250 people.
