NEWS BRIEFS
Pivot Point Incorporated announced a new logo to note that in addition to pins, the Wisconsin-based company manufactures wire rope cable products plus propriety and custom fasteners.
The previous logo had been used over 30 years.
“As much as we loved our old logo, we felt it was time to change to a more modern look,” president Dave Zimmermann said.
Pivot Point traces its history back to 1929 when Rein Leitzke founded Leitzke Specialties to manufacture of various fasteners, including clevises, clevis pins, cotter pins, keystock and washers, primarily in the agricultural and machine building industries. The name was changed to Rein Leitzke Incorporated.
Rein Leitzke’s inventions include a split washer, automatic couplings, adjustable clevis pins and wire stretcher. The company was sold in the 1970’s.
In 1982 grandson Rue Leitzke brought back the company as Pivot Point Incorporated. The current product line includes many of the traditional agricultural fasteners plus numerous industrial fasteners for transportation, material handling, defense, aerospace, automation, medical, consumer products and other industries. Pivot Point has developed fastener innovations such as SLIC Pin, Bow-Tie Locking Cotter Pins, Rue-Ring Locking Cotter Pins, Nylon Lanyards and Infinity S-hooks.
