Miss America, Senco Fastening Building Veterans Housing
John Wolz
Heather French, Miss America 2000, and Senco Fastening Systems announced a program to create permanent housing for the estimated 275,000 homeless veterans in the U.S.
Senco Fastening is a Cincinnati-based manufacturer of pneumatic tools for homebuilders and remodelers.
The program will be administered by the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans.
I am excited to be working with Senco throughout my year of service to raise money and in-kind contributions for the effort, French said. I know it will make a difference in the lives of veterans who have struggled to get off the streets, but cannot get past the hurdle of affording their own dwelling.
French is promoting awareness about homeless veterans as she travels 21,000 miles a month during her reign.
Anyone interested in donating tools, building materials or money can contact William Roberts, Sencos manager of brand communications at 513 386-2000.
