Acme Grinding Inc. was purchased by Charles Zaluckyj, owner of Reliable & Accurate Mfg. Co., also in Rockford. Former Acme owner Judy Pike has been prepared to shut down the business shortly before Zaluckyi bought the company (see FIN Dec. 11, 2003).
Established in 1948 as Acme Bowling Supply, Acme now performs a centerless and cylindrical grinding service with customers in a wide variety of industries including fasteners, commercial, and automotive. According to general manager Kevin Thompson, Acme employs 8 workers.
