ACQUISITION: Kimball Midwest Acquires OEC Corporation

Kimball Midwest acquired the MRO business of OEC Corporation. OEC is a Medina, OH-based industrial distributor servicing the MRO and fleet markets throughout the United States since 1939.
Kimball Midwest president Patrick McCurdy Jr. said the acquisition allows them “to service more customers, new geographic territories and increase our leverage in the marketplace.”
Kimball Midwest was founded in 1923 and is a national distributor of maintenance hardware supplies with over 400 salespeople and 30,000 customers. Kimball Midwest reported sales of $47 million in 2002. There are branches in Dallas and Reno, and the company is headquartered at 582 W. Goodale St., Columbus, OH 43215.
