ACQUISITION: Orbitform Buys Milford Fastening Systems

Orbitform Group acquired Milford Fastening Systems, a 100-year-old impact riveting machine manufacturer in Milford, CT. \ Under president Mike Shirkey, Orbitform will operate Milford Fastening to continue producing pneumatic, bench-top, pedestal and fixed-center riveters, along with contact setters and assembly systems. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition allows Orbitform to reunite Milford Fastening with its former cold-heading division. Milford was bought by Industrial Holdings in 1995 and split into Milford Rivet and cold-headed products producer Ideal Products. Industrial Holdings�also bought Orbitform in 1997.
Then in 2001 Industrial Holdings reorganized and sold off many of its manufacturing operations, including Orbitform, which purchased Ideal Products at that time.�
�For all intents and purposes, Milford is back in its original state � with rivet machines and cold-heading operations both part of the same corporate structure,� announced Orbitform.
Jackson, MI-based Orbitform Group consists of Orbitform (cold-forming orbital riveting machines), Rollerform (roller-forming machines), Thernuform (heat-staking fastening equipment), Adtech (impact riveting machines), WatchDawg (process monitoring and control equipment) and Arbor Automation (palletized conveyor systems). �2004 FastenerNews.com
