Charles Halpin of Brighton Best Socket Screw Mfd. was elected president of the Metropolitan Fastener Distributors Association.
Marty Schneider of Continental-Aero, a former MFDA president, was elected first vice president; Dennis Shanahan, Mutual Screw & Supply, 2nd vice president; Ken Schneeloch, McCormick Associates, secretary; and Larry Klein, Uneeda Bolt & Screw, treasurer.
Directors are John Boyle, Vogelsang Corp.; Charles Franck, Distributor Sales Division of IFC Fastener; Bill Lang, ND Industries; Vic LaPoma, Kanebridge Corp.; Bob Molner, Secure Fastener & Tool; Tom Punzo Jr., Punzo Associates; Michael Smith, Smith Associates; Doug Thonus, Fastar Inc.; and Ed Werner, EZ Sockets.
Halpin reported the MFDA”s 9th annual tabletop show drew 70 exhibitors and more than 300 attendees.
“World demand for metals and metal products has outgrown the world”s production capacity for the first time in history,” Halpin observed. “Every distributor and vendor should be evaluating their supply chain partners and making long-term plans to insure the continuity of service to the industrial manufacturing base.”
“With our economy expanding and our expectations high, the time to network and expand is upon us all,” Halpin added. “The MFDA prides itself on the relationships built throughout our membership.”
The next MFDA tabletop will be Sept. 19, 2005, at the Fiesta in Wood Ridge, NJ.
