AFS Shanghai, located in the Waigaoqiao free trade zone, will focus on OEM and after market sales and logistics support for the full range of AFS products. Services include a bonded warehouse, kitting, inventory management and technical support.
In a written statement, AFS said the move furthered its strategy of getting closer to its main customers and accompanying its growth in Asia in tune with overall market growth.
Headquartered in Torrance, CA, AFS has 6,000 employees and manufactures at 26 locations in 7 countries.
Fastener giant Textron Fastening Systems has been operating in China for two years. The company recently doubled the size of its China production facility to meet growing demand for regional supply of engineered fasteners in China”s electronics and automotive industries.
Additional capacity at the 115,000 sq ft TFS facility allows production of 200 million engineered fasteners per month for customers in China and for export to foreign markets, according to Randy Teo, Asia Pacific president for TFS. �2005 FastenerNews.com
