Five industry leaders will be panelists at the Southwestern Fastener Expo workshop on How to Buy Fasteners for designed primarily new buyers for fastener distributorships.
Panelists are: Steve Cabral, Lone Star Fasteners and Walker Bolt Co; Mary Chambers,, Assembly Products & Sales; Peter De Paola,, aDP Rivet; Robert Lomas,, Sooner Bolt & Supply/SBS Industries; and Dick Slusser,, Brighton-Best Socket Screw Mfg. FastenerNews.com co-publishers John Wolz, and Ann Bisgyer, will moderate the session.

The workshop will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, followed by the Expo from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Westin Hotel/DFW Airport. Anyone registering for the Expo may attend the How to Buy Fasteners workshop and Expo. The Saturday events are $35 ($25 for SFA members).

SFA executive director John Elsner, expects 100 exhibiting companies at the Expo.

Each How to Buy panelist has more than 30 years of fastener experience in manufacturing, distribution, importing or as a sales rep, Bisgyer pointed out. “They will be offering tips to take home and put to use from their own experience buying or selling fasteners.”

The Expo is in conjunction with the Southwestern Fastener Association spring conference. SFA events include an opening reception Thursday, business meeting and session on plating Friday morning; and banquet Friday evening.
