R&B Inc. is changing its name to Dorman Products Inc.
“The change from R&B, Inc. to Dorman Products, Inc. will present a sharper image of the company and strengthen its corporate identity by connecting it directly to the company”s strongest brand,” Dorman said in a press release. R&B purchased Dorman Products in 1994.
In November 2005, R&B Inc. launched its “Dorman – New Since 1918” marketing campaign and repositioned its brands under a single corporate umbrella – Dorman. All products are now sold under one of seven Dorman sub-brands. General automotive fasteners are offered under its Auto Grade sub-brand.
Revenue for R&B Inc. during 2005 rose 11.5% to $278.12 million on new product sales growth, while net income remained flat at $17.07 million.
Dorman designs, packages and markets 73,000 automotive replacement parts and fasteners, with 33% of its business to OEMs.
Customers include AutoZone, Pep Boys, Advance, NAPA, Wal-Mart, Carquest, AutoValue, Home Depot, Lowe”s, salvage yards and local independent wholesalers.
Dorman operates 13 warehouse and office facilities in the U.S., Canada, Sweden, China and Korea. Domestic warehouses are located in Warsaw, KY; Colmar, PA; Louisiana, MO; Baltimore, MD; and Portland, TN.
CEO Richard Berman and his extended family own 41% of common stock.
