Stainless Steel Sales Jump

Taiwan”s major stainless steel manufacturers, including Jaung Yuann Enterprise Co., Sinkang Steel Corp., Yeun Chyang Industrial Co., and Rodex Fasteners Co., reported sales in August hit historic highs, Taiwan Economic News reported.
Yeun Chyang revenue for the first eight months of 2006 has already topped full-year year sales for 2005, with eight-month sales topping NT$8.865 billion (US$270.27 million). August sales soared 125% to NT$1.647 billion (US$50.21 million).
Other stainless steel firms posted similar results, with eight-month revenue surpassing 2005 annual sales.
In addition, steel mills equipped with electric furnaces, including Tung Ho Steel Enterprise Corp. and Feng Hsin Iron & Steel Co., reported strong profits. �2006 FastenerNews.com
