After two steady years the FIN Company Performance Index dropped 9.3% to 6.8 at the end of 2006. The index had been 7.5 at the end of the previous two years.
In the 13 years of the FIN Index it has ranged from a low of 5.6 at the end of 2001 to a high of 7.9 for 1994.
A total of 4.9% rated their companies at the perfect 10 of record growth. No participants reported their companies at 1 or bankruptcy. The lowest was one company at 3.
Three-quarters rated their companies at 6 or above. The percentage rating their companies below 6 jumped to 24.5%, compared with 13.9% a year ago.
