Anixter Acquires UK’s Total Supply Solutions

Anixter International Inc. continued its expansion in Europe by acquiring UK-based fastener distributor Total Supply Solutions Ltd. for $8 million in cash and assumption of debt. Anixter predicted TSS will generate $22 million in sales during 2007, with half of revenue coming from the UK and the remainder from Poland the the Czech Republic.
Anixter CEO Robert Grubbs claimed the deal “expands the geographic scope of our OEM Supply business.”
“This acquisition is another step in the geographic expansion of our OEM Supply business through the addition of important customers in Eastern Europe,” Grubbs stated, adding that the acquisition “brings some very complementary customers to our existing base.”
Anixter acquired Italian fastener distributor MFU Holding SpA in the fourth quarter of 2006, after buying IMS in May 2006 and the UK’s Infast in 2005.
