” Fabory is marking the 60th anniversary of J.M. Borstlap and sons Karel and Joop founding the fastener distributorship on March 10, 1947. Fabory was started as Borstlap & Sons in the Dutch coastal town Scheveningen. As fastener wholesale traders they soon began to sell most of their products under the Fabory brand name.
After outgrowing several locations in The Hague, the Borstlap family relocated to Tilburg in 1968. Several take-overs resulted in The Borstlap Masters in Fasteners Group, a name associated worldwide with high quality products.
John Borstlap was the last member of the Borstlap family to take an active part in the company. Alfons van der Aa became CEO in 2002. In 2006 the name Borstlap was changed to Fabory for group identity.

The privately-held company”s roots date back to 1870 when the Tinnerman Stove & Range Co. was founded in Cleveland, Tinnerman Palnut”s first fastener product, the SpeedNut, was developed in 1936 to solve a problem caused by the shipping of Tinnerman stoves.
The Tinnerman SpeedNut was soon used for other products, including airplanes and automobiles. Tinnerman eventually shut down its stove business to focus on SpeedNut. Subsequently Tinnerman”s portfolio grew to 10,000 parts.
Between 1960 and 2001, the company underwent a series of acquisitions, integrating complementary manufacturing capabilities and product technologies from Eaton Corporation, TRW and Textron.

” Trifast PLC named Steve Auld chief executive. Auld was appointed executive director in 2005 upon the acquisition of Serco Ryan. Auld has 24 years of fastener experience and succeeds Jim Barker, who officially steps down May 31.
Barker has been chief executive since 2002. Trifast chairman Anthony Allen thanked Barker for overseeing the Serco Ryan acquisition and “the transformation of the Group into a major player in the industrial fastener market.”
The Trifast Group reported annual sales of �117.3 million (US$234.9m) and profits of �5.6 million (US$11.2m).
