ASTM Honors Porteous’ King with Weingruber Award

ASTM International Committee F16 on Fasteners recognized William King, manager of quality assurance and engineering for Porteous Fastener Co. with the Fred F. Weingruber Award.

An ASTM member since 1994, King is F16 membership secretary and secretary of Subcommittee F16.95 on long range planning and a member of Committee E06 on Performance of Buildings. At Porteous, King educates Asian fastener companies on ASTM standards.

King also is a member of the Concrete Anchor Manufacturers’ Association and the National Fastener Distributors Association. He serves on ASTM’s B18 standards committee, Standardization of Bolts, Nuts, Rivets, Screws, Washers, and Similar Fasteners. King began his career as a quality engineer with Shur-Lok Corp. and worked in other quality assurance positions and as a program manager.
