Two Metaldyne companies, Eskay Screw Corporation and K-Tech, are in the process of consolidating operations and increasing capacity, CEO Mike Flannery said.\
The headquarters will be in Eskays 145,000 sq ft facility in Wood Dale, IL, and K-Tech will continue to operate out of its Wheeling, IL, plant.
The consolidated companies will operate under one name to avoid confusing the marketplace. The new name has not yet been determined.
The Eskay plant was built with potential for expansion of capacity, and there is room for expansion on adjacent land, Flannery noted. We can quadruple in size with minimal construction by moving warehouse operations, Flannery added.
The management team includes Dick Boyett as vice president for sales and marketing; Ken Boyd, vice president of manufacturing for Eskay; and Bill Collopy, vice president for manufacturing at K-Tech.
Flannery said Metaldyne will be combining synergies of the many companies. Thus all the Metaldyne companies can be included in one sales presentation to automakers.
Eskay and K-Tech also plan to increase capacity with more offshore sourcing, Flannery added.
Eskay was founded in 1967 and produces specialty fasteners for the automotive, building products, electrical and other markets. K-Tech, founded in 1988, manufactures a similar product mix with more emphasis on automotive.
