European Show Tops 5,000

More than 5,000 people from 32 countries participated in the Fastener Fair Stuttgart, according to figures from an independent registration contractor. The total included 3,506 attendees and 1,551 exhibit staff for a total of 5,057.
At the last Fastener Fair Stuttgart in 2005 there were 1,603 visitors and 456 exhibit staff.
A total of 86.2% of attendees come from the 27 European Union countries. Of those, Western European countries yielded 79% of attendees; Eastern Europe and Russia 13.2%; Asia Pacific 3.8%; North & South America 1.4%; and Africa 1.1%.
A total of 31.5% of attendees listed themselves as company directors or owners; 27.4% purchasing staff and 22.7% sales/marketing. Construction fasteners (“fixings”) accounted for 40% of attendees.
A total of 440 exhibitors booked stands, but 435 were occupied. Some Iranian exhibitors didn’t show because they were denied visas.
The audit showed 29% of pre-registered visitors did not attend the show. A 56.5% majority did preregister. Actual attendance is recorded by scanning badge bar codes at the entrance.
A 57% majority of exhibitors were European (52% EU) led by Germany, Italy and the UK. A total of 38% of exhibitors were Asian with Taiwan as the largest contingent, followed by China, India, Korea, Japan and Thailand. Web: fastenerfair.com �2007 FastenerNews.com
