UK-based Barton Cold-Form signed an agreement with presswork specialists Brandauer to open a sales office in Poland, the Birmingham Post reports. The office will be managed by Roman Najda.
Backed by support from supply chain initiative, Accelerate, the new agreement means the two companies will combine their efforts to source and secure orders from Tier One companies. The partnership is already looking at adding a potential 1 million to existing contracts.
The partnership was a direct result of the two organizations’ involvement with ‘Auto-Zone’, an Accelerate-backed initiative that looks to match existing capacity in the region with opportunities across Europe.
“We set up a sales and distribution centre in Katowice at the start of this year in a bid to bolster existing work in the automotive and medical sectors,” explained Barton Cold-Form managing director Paul Denning. Denning said Najda has already secured 500,000 worth of new orders.
David Spears, managing director of Birmingham-based Brandauer, said the partnership “means we can offer anything from fasteners and cold-formed parts to electrical connectors, titanium implants for the medical sector, grab rings for the push-fit plumbing industry and mobile phone components.”
Barton Cold-Form employs 105 workers to produce specialized metal and alloy fasteners and other components at its 50,000 sq ft facility in Droitwich. The company has recruited a Polish sales rep to be based at its UK plant. Web: bartoncoldform.co.uk 2008 FastenerNews.com
