Fastener Stocks Outperform Overall Market

The FIN Fastener Stock Index lost less than an overall index of industrial stocks in the first quarter of 2001. Fastener stocks dipped 3.4%, compared with a combination of related stock indexes, which dropped 9.5%.

Fastener stocks gaining more than 10% were Aviall, Kaydon, Penn Engineering, Pentacon, Textron, TransTechnology, Industrial Holdings, R&B Inc., SunSource, Chicago Rivet and Ivaco.
Fastener stocks slipping more than 10% were Danaher, Dover, Fairchild, Honeywell, Precision Castparts and Lawson Products.\
