Gaffney Bolt completed construction on an 8,000 sq ft addition to its manufacturing plant in Rockford, president Michael Gaffney announced. The expansion increases manufacturing capacity and allows shorter lead times.
Gaffney also will stock and sell A325 Type III bar stock in diameters from 5/8 through 1 1/2″ up to 20″.

Henkel Corp. was picked as Germany’s most admired company for 2009, up from 16th position last year, according to Fortune magazine. Henkel manufactures Loctite adhesives plus home care and personal care products.

Porteous Fastener Co. announced an agreement with Phillips Fastener LLC to exclusively market and sell the Phillips Square-Driv wood and composite deck screws to Porteous distributor customers in North America.

The Phillips products previously were available only through Home Depot and Lowe’s.

The Square-Driv has anti-camout ribs guaranteed not to strip or snap-off during installation. The Durafast coating is guaranteed not to rust or cause wood to stain, while being color matched to wood.

Republic Engineered Products Inc. announced it is moving the Ohio corporate headquarters from Fairlawn to its manufacturing plant in Canton. The new address is 2633 Eighth St. NE, Canton, OH 44704-2311.

CEO Jaime Vigil noted that Republic recently decentralized, moving about one third of our corporate staff to our Canton, Lorain and Massillon operations. We believe being close to our plants gets us more in touch with operations and makes decision making a more efficient process, resulting in better customer satisfaction and less waste.

In January Republic moved its cold finished division headquarters to the plant in Massillon.

Sherex Fastening Solutions named H.W. Eckhardt Corporation as exclusive distributor of Riv-Float, a rivet nut with internally floating threads. Riv-Float was developed in conjunction with Sherex to meet a customer need.

The customer used a floating nut plate and two rivets for its manufacturing application and the development of the Riv-Float solves this issue with one component instead of three, explained Eckhardt president John Eckhardt.

The internally-floating threads allow for attaching components in off center applications and can accommodate for tolerance stack up in the manufacturing process.

Riv-Float is designed for post installation in applications with cage nuts, clinch nuts, floating nut plates or weld nuts.
