2nd Layoff Wave Hits National Rivet

Wisconsin-based National Rivet and Manufacturing announced layoffs, citing the recession gripping the U.S., according to the Fond du Lac Reporter.

Employees were informed of the most recent cuts last week, reportedly the second round of layoffs in the past few weeks.

“Both of these layoffs are due to business conditions reflected in the country”s economic crisis,” executive vice president Bur Zeratsky was quoted as saying. “At this point, we”re hopeful that as business conditions change that we”ll have an opportunity to call those people back.”

A fourth-generation, family-owned fastener maker, National Rivet manufactures rivets for aerospace, precision electronics, appliances, automotive, furniture, consumer products and recreational vehicles. Web: nationalrivet.com 2009 FastenerNews.com
