Airbus Using New Alcoa Trolley-Tray Fastener Kitting

Alcoa Fastening Systems announced the deployment of a new trolley-tray fastener kitting system at the new Airbus A320 final assembly line in Tianjin, China.

The Tianjin system is similar deployment of at the A320 plant in Hamburg, Germany. The system provides all fuselage and wing joint area fasteners from a point-of-use tray. The color-coded visual system is designed to make fastener selection mistake-proof, improve assembly speed and accuracy, and reduce inventory.
