Saturn Fasteners Receives Boeing Award
The Saturn Fasteners Inc., operation of Acument Global Technologies Acument Aerospace business, received a 2008 Boeing Performance Excellence Award. Burbank, CA-based Saturn Fasteners maintained a Silver composite performance rating from Oct. 1, 2007, to Sept. 30, 2008. Saturn Fasteners was one of 325 Boeing suppliers receiving the Silver level of recognition.
“The continued expansion of Acument Aerospace as a vital new supplier of threaded aerospace fastening solutions is based on the solid quality and service foundation established by our Saturn Fasteners operation,” stated Steve Karno, sales & marketing director for Acument Aerospace.
Saturn Fasteners, which has supplied fasteners to Boeing since its founding in 1989, was acquired by Acument in early 2008 along with the startup of Camcar Aerospace in Rockford, IL. That activity was followed months later with the formation of Acument’s aerospace division to expand and focus on the high performance aerospace threaded fastener market. Acument Aerospace is headquartered in Rockford and headed by Randy Aardema.
Headquartered in the Detroit suburb of Troy, MI, Acument supplies mechanical fastening systems and value-based fastening solutions, including engineered fastening systems, fastening installation technology and inventory management and application engineering services. With about 8,500 employees in 17 countries, Acument has customers in 150 countries.
