Anixter Pentacon and Anixter Eurofast have been renamed the Aerospace Hardware division of Anixter Inc.
Anixter launched a new website for the combined companies: Anixter.com/aerospace.
Anixter also published a brochure, “Rebranding FAQ,” to answer customer and supplier questions.
Anixter said the change reflects a commitment to work as one unified company in serving customers and suppliers worldwide. “By unifying under a strong, unchanging brand identity, we are simplifying the way we do business with our customers and suppliers,” Anixter announced.
Anixter entered the fastener business in 2002 by acquiring Pentacon Inc., which had been created in 1998 as a rollup of seven distributors who dated as far back as 1955.
Anixter split Pentacon’s aerospace and industrial OEM groups into Anixter Pentacon and Anixter Fasteners. The OEM supply division has grown to more than $1.5 billion in annual worldwide sales.
In 2007, Anixter acquired Eurofast SAS from LISI Aerospace to give Anixter a base for expansion.
