Barnes Consolidating Western U.S. Facilities

Barnes Distribution will consolidate its four West Coast distribution centers into one in Reno, NV, in a plan to $750,000 in annual costs.
Barnes has been operating centers in Bakersfield, CA; Auburn, WA; and Las Vegas and Sparks, NV.
Barnes Distribution president Keith Drewett said reducing the number of facilities was part of the strategy in acquiring Curtis Industries Inc. and combining it with Bowman Distribution.
“The Reno distribution center will be organized to stock consolidated product line inventory to support all of the West Coast region,” Drewett said.
Employees of the closing distribution centers will be considered for the Reno facility or be offered severance packages.
