Orbitform Expands Prototype and Short-Run Production Capabilities

Orbitform Group expanded capacity “to provide prototype services for the assembly of parts within the new Application Engineering Lab at the company’s headquarters in Jackson, MI, the company announced.

The 6,000 sq ft laboratory is staffed fulltime by engineers Brent Withrow and Todd Hutson, who have a combined 35 years of experience developing all types of fastening applications.

Orbitform’s Application Engineering Lab provides process and product development services; short to medium production runs; custom machining capabilities; and tooling development and design.

Orbitform provides prototype services for the assembly of parts, specializing in forming, joining and fastening. Each application is scientifically analyzed and precisely documented.

In addition, the lab is equipped with over 30 of Orbitform’s standard impact, orbital, spiral, rollerforming, hot upset, MIG and resistance welding machines to increase joining solutions for forming and assembly applications.

To promote the new facility, Orbitform is offering first time customers up to 10 hours of free lab time for their process development service until Nov. 1.
