ACQUISITIONS: Acme Mfg. Buys 3rd Threaded Rod Maker

Denver-based Acme Manufacturing Co. acquired a third threaded rod manufacturer, Lancaster Threaded Products, adding to its recent purchase of Watson Metal Products Corp. and its 2008 acquisition of Threaded Rod Co. (now Indianapolis Threaded Rod Co.)

Lancaster, PA-based Lancaster Threaded Products has manufactured and distributed threaded products to the Midwest and Northeast since 1977.

Russ Robinson and Bob Alyanakian will continue their respective roles as president and vice president of Lancaster Threaded Products, Acme Manufacturing stated.

Acme Manufacturing has more than 60 years of threaded product manufacturing experience through its companies: Boltmaster, RediBolt, Indianapolis Threaded Rod, Watson Metal Products and Lancaster Threaded Products.

Founded in 1986 as the SteelWorks Corp., the name was changed to Acme Mfg. Co. in 2006.

Originally SteelWorks manufactured and distributed metal shapes for DIY to the retail hardware trade. Since 1992, Acme has acquired other businesses that make and distribute metal products.

Today Acme manufactures perforated angle and struts for the garage door industry; lawn edging, stakes, staples and pins for the landscape industry; and threaded rod for the electrical supply, plumbing supply, maintenance, and fire sprinkler industries.

Acme’s headquarters and primary manufacturing and distribution facilities are located in a 140,000 sq ft facility at 4661 Monaco St., Denver, CO. ©2009 GlobalFastenerNews.com
