EuroTec Wins New Product Award for EiSYS Façade Screw at Fastener Fair Stuttgart
E.U.R.O. Tec GmbH of Germany won the new product showcase at Fastener Fair Stuttgart with a fastener for façade assembly.
The award was based on voting by visitors to the October 7-8, 2009, trade show in Germany.
In second place was a removable adjustable screw by Tite-Fix and third went to Ferodom s.r.o. for its 1stLock self-locking nut.
Users install EuroTec’s EiSYS screws through the substrate and insulation material into the wall. EiSYS includes a ring market on the plug to ensure insertion to the correct depth, as well as a threaded sleeve for adjustment to correspond with the wall. E.U.R.O. says the system cal be adapted to cladding. Each fixing point consists of two fasteners placed in a V-shape, following the timber frame principle.
The system is offered in six fastener lengths corresponding to the most popular thicknesses of insulation material.
Hagen, Germany-based Eurotec was founded 10 years ago by Gregor Mamys and Markus Rensburg and has grown to 30 employees.
The second-place award winner is Adjust-Tite, a removable adjustable screw. Tite-Fix Ltd. suggests the fastener for door jambs and carcasses.
Adjust-Tite allows 15 mm of adjustment when fixing two sections of lumber or fiber board.
A square recess offers the most efficient drive eliminating cam out Adjust-Tite is for both hardwoods and softwoods plus fiber boards.
UK-based Tite-Fix Ltd. designs and manufactures wood screws for the deck, furniture, flooring and general building industries.
Third was Ferodom s.r.o.’s 1stLock protection system for assembling strength by flexible angled segment of a plastic material or soft metal such as copper.
The segment’s diameter is decreased during assembly, developing adherence pressure on the screw thread and creating a friction lock between the screw and nut.
1stLock, developed in a partnership with the Silovakia Technical University, can be used in dynamically stressed components with screw fasteners, rotating and other assemblies subject to vibration.
Ferodom, a family-company founded in 2000, produces self-locking nuts in Zilina, SK.
