Metropolitan Exhibit Space Nears Sell-Out
The 6th annual Metropolitan Fastener Distributors Association tabletop show exhibitor spaces are filling quickly, Mike Smith announced.
The show will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 1, at the Fiesta in Wood Ridge, NJ.\
Proceeds from the show go the MFDA scholarship fund, charities and special association programs.
Smith said 10% of the registered exhibitors thus far are new to the show.
�We have an exhibitor base that covers all aspects of our industry,� Smith said. �We offer attendees the opportunity to meet with existing vendors, open doors to new sources, discover new products and vendor capabilities and learn the latest updates on fasteners and industry changes without the time and cost that national shows require.�
The schedule includes a luncheon for exhibitors and dinner for attendees. MFDA will hold a preshow golf outing on Sunday.

Industrial Distribution Plans Online Conference & Trade Show
Industrial Distribution magazine announced SupplyChainLinkExpo, a free online conference and tradeshow, October 17-18, 2001.
The show is produced by Industrial Distribution and other Cahners Supply Chain/OEM Group publications.

Interwire to Report Attendance Rather Than Total Registration
Interwire: Wire & Cable Manufacturing Week announced that from now on it will use actual attendance numbers at its trade show rather than registration numbers.
Total show registration for the 2001 show was 9,079. At 7,955, actual attendance was 12.3% lower than the total of advance and on-site registrations.
At its 71st annual convention in conjunction with Interwire, WAI announced three other wire organizations will cosponsor WAI�s International Technical Conference in 2003.

Taber, Valorie to Conduct M&A Workshop in Las Vegas
Ben Taber and Tom Valorie of the Canterbury Group will conduct a mergers and acquisitions workshop in conjunction with the National Industrial Fastener Show/West.

China Show Draws 60,000 � The China International Machine Parts & Special Equipment Exhibition reported the June 2001 event totaled 700 booths and more than 60,000 attendees.
According to show management figures, 92% of attendees were decision makers and engineers from related industries, such as machine components, automobile/motorcycle, aerospace, trading, mining/petrochemical, general machinery, electronics, textile and government. The Machine Parts 2001 portion of CIMCE included Fastener China.
