UK-based Essentra plc acquired Micro Plastics for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in the early 1960s by Roy Hill, Arkansas-based Micro Plastics manufactures and distributes nylon fasteners and other plastic components for industrial, automotive and white goods markets. For the year ended June 30, 2017, Micro Plastics generated revenue $26.8 million and adjusted EBIT of $1.7 million.

Micro Plastics operates a 238,000 sq ft facility in Flippin, AR, that employs over 450 workers. The company also operates a subsidiary in Monterrey, Mexico, to serve the Mexican and South American markets. Web: MicroPlastics.com
Essentra said Micro Plastics will be reported under its Components division, which supplies plastic injection moulded, vinyl dip moulded and metal items to manufacturing, automotive, fabrication, electronics and construction industries.
“As a leading provider of fasteners , Micro Plastics significantly enhances our offering in the US for one of our core product ranges and adds custom injection moulding capability, as well as providing compelling cross – selling potential. In addition, through the site in Monterrey, we will extend our manufacturing footprint and gain access to a number of high – growth end – markets – such as white goods and automotives – in Mexico,” stated Essentra CEO Paul Forman.
