Acument Global Technologies is marking the 50th anniversary of the TORX drive system license with Header Die & Tool Inc.

Illinois-based Header Die & Tool became a licensee on November 27, 1968, when the two companies were known as Camcar Screw & Manufacturing Company and Header Die & Tool Inc.

Header Die president Lucas Derry declared the company “proud to have been a part of the Torx program for 50 years. In that time, much has changed and we are looking forward to another 50 years with the program.”

Steve Dixon, director of IP & Licensing, said the “history of the Torx drive system, now used worldwide in nearly every industry, had its origins with the dedicated involvement of several key organizations without whose help this history would not have been possible.”

Since its introduction in the 1960s, Torx has become a global high-performance drive system for threaded assemblies in a broad range of applications and end-use markets for assembly situations. Qualified licensed manufacturers apply Torx and Acument’s Torx Plus drive system for applications in automotive, industrial, electronics, aerospace and other markets.
