Fiat Chrysler has announced the recall of 182,000 2019 model year Ram 1500 trucks worldwide due to an electrical problem that could cut out the power steering, CarBuzz.com reports.

The automaker claims most of the affected vehicles are in the U.S. and Canada, while another one-third are still on dealership lots.

The problem on the redesigned full-size pickup truck involves a battery ground-circuit fastener that may not be secured properly.

“This could loosen the connection enough to create an open circuit, thus leading to inconsistent feedback and potential loss of power steering, leading to an increased risk of a crash,” writes Jay Traugott of CarBuzz.com.

There have been reported crashes or injuries.

The repair is simple.

“All a dealership technician has to do is tighten the fastener.”
