“Japan’s steel fastener export to China decreased significantly under the U.S. -China trade conflict, while there was no sign of stagnation in the export to the U.S.,” Fastener World reports.
Japan’s steel fastener exports to the U.S. declined 3.1% to 29,470 tons in the first seven months of 2019, Fastener World reports. The export value slipped 0.7% to JPY 1.635 billion.
Meanwhile, the Japanese steel bolt exports to China dropped 19% to 24,900 tons, with the value down 13% to JPY 17.2 billion in the first seven months of 2019.
“In the backdrop of U.S.-China trade conflict, China’s economic downturn seems to have cast an impact on Japan’s fastener export,” according to Fastener World.
