Upcoming fastener trade shows are continuing preparations despite the threat of the coronavirus.
“We are keeping a close eye on the situation and my director has confirmed with our headquarters that all shows are going forward as scheduled,” Emma Engelbrecht said of the Taiwan International Fastener Show. Engelbrecht is the Chicago-based trade promotion specialist with the Taiwan Trade Center.
There were 2,193 overseas visitors at TIFS in 2018 with 27.5% from China and 31.3% from the next four largest nations combined: Japan, India, the U.S. and Germany.

The International Hardware Fair acknowledged inquiries about the March 1-4, 2020, trade show in Köln (Cologne), Germany.
The show is in “dialogue with the health authorities” and German officials “do not currently anticipate a direct threat. Germany is well prepared to identify, isolate and, where necessary, treat potential patients.”
Preparations for the hardware fair “are proceeding as planned. We will advise you on constructive precautionary measures and be increasing disinfectant supplies at the event grounds.”
