ARaymond will shutter its plant in Brunswick, OH, according to the Lorain County Gazette.

The plant, which manufactures automotive and industrial clips, currently employs 53 workers and will close by December.  Metal work done at the Brunswick plant will be transferred to ARaymond facilities in Logansport, IN, and Hamilton, Ontario, while the plant’s plastic operations will be transferred to a company facility in Rochester Hills, MI.

Severance packages and outplacement services are being provided for all affected ARaymond employees, according to the company.

“In an effort to further enhance the efficiency of our operations, we are in the process of optimizing our North American metal footprint and streamlining our available manufacturing capacity,” stated CEO Dan Dolan.  “This realignment is aimed at accelerating our cost competitiveness and better serving the long-term needs of our customers.”

The COVID-19 pandemic and soft automotive sales forecast for the coming years contributed to the closure, according to the Gazette.

“As a family-owned business for six generations, we regret having to close this facility,” added Greg Smith, CEO of the plant’s industrial business unit.

ARaymond has plants in Kentucky, and Mexico, in addition to plants in Indiana, Michigan and Ontario.  ARaymond employs more than 950 people in North American, as well as more than 7,000 people in 25 countries.  Web: araymondtinnerman.com
