SFA Elects Chambers, Longyear & Carr; Honors Former President Rodriguez
Mary Chambers, John Longyear and Don Carr were elected to three-year terms on the Southwestern Fastener Association board.
Chambers, of Assembly Products & Sales, is currently on the board and was SFA president in 2001.
Longyear, of Metric & Multistandard, was SFA chair in 1991.
Carr, Porteous Fastener Co., was appointed to the board last year to fill the term of the late Will Rodriguez.
SFA presented its Mickey McClure Award for association leadership posthumously to Rodriguez. Rodriguez was SFA president in 1992.
He started in the fastener industry in the warehouse of Coastal Fasteners as a college student. Rodriguez co-founded Rainbow Fastener Corp. with Scott Turner and Vince Marcheschi in 1985. They sold Rainbow to Distribution Dynamics Inc. in 1998 and in 2000 he left DDI. In 2007 he founded Fastener Connection and acquired the Tennessee branches of Lightning Components Corp.
